Welcome my darlings to our second morning. Once we’ve enriched our knowledge about how keto works and measures our bodies, it’s now time to start cooking, tasting and dining.
Starting our adventure with keto, it’s worth stocking up our kitchen with products without which it will be difficult to prepare our keto vegetarian meals. There is nothing more irritating than when we open our cookbook and realise that we are missing 1 teaspoon of xanthan gum or 20g of Psyllium husk.
(Yes, I’ve been there and do not recommend)
If you have been on the vegan way of eating, then surely your kitchen already has most of the needed ingredients. But if you’re only just switching to the Keto diet, and starting your adventure with vegan style food, you need a supply of basic products. Buying everything at once can diminish your wallet, but we need to remember that we will not use all the ingredients in one meal. Some of them will last for a couple of weeks.
Basic ingredients in Keto Vegan kitchen:
Flax seeds (whole and ground)
Salt ….. or Himalayan salt (jaka to solw platkach myszo moze byc inna nazwa po polsku?
Almond flour or ground almonds
Olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil or flax seed oil
Nuts and seeds
Peanut butter/Almond butter
Protein powder (peas or hemp)
Avocado, olives, mushrooms, tomatoes, blueberries, rocket, spring onion, onion, garlic, ginger, chilli flakes, spices.
A very important factor of every diet is to enrich your body with nourishing ingredients. Taking supplements will also be very beneficial. The ones I use are:
Vitamin D with Vitamin K2
Digestive enzymes with probiotics
Iron or folic acid (during menstruation)
It’s worth doing regular blood tests to determine if we have any vitamin deficiencies. Any kind of ill-feeling or sudden changes in our health can be caused by a lack of certain vitamins or minerals.
Prepare your kitchen and your medicine chest for the new phase. The changes are coming!
With love NvL.
